|   | Low Speed: This test pushed CD #4 to its' absolute limit. The disc was burned at 40x, twice the certified speed for this disc type!! and as you can see, the overall burning quality seriously suffered. With a maximum C1 error spike shown at 489 errors in a sector, and an average of over 40 C1 errors per sector You have to wonder if the integrity of the files on the disc has been compromised or not? Let's see how this disc fairs when tested at higher speeds! High Speed: As you likely expected, we see a major increase in errors being reported now, both C1 as well as the more destructive C2 errors! A quick scan using Nero's CD Speed: Scan Disc, shows the all the files are still readable, however the drive had to slow down significantly to read some parts of the disc (note: CD Speed pictures have been removed for lack of space on the page, but are still available upon request). I think it is safe to say that burning these CD-Rs at 40x is not a good idea; now let us see how they fair at slightly slower speeds...   |

|   | Low Speed: We now have a return to reasonable quality results. It appears that these discs don't have much of a problem being burned at 32x, but let's take a look at the high speed testing before making any final judgments. High Speed: I don't know if you would classify this as great quality or not, but I would still call these results quite good! The C1 errors reported are well within the range needed for regular use.   |

|   | Low Speed: We again see a decrease in the amount of C1 errors being reported, this time we see an incredible average of only 0.200 errors per sector! I suppose these results should not be unexpected as 24x is VERY close to the certified speed for these discs. High Speed: Even when tested at 40x this CD-R performs very well! Now we shall move to the "underclock tests" in which we shall see how these discs perform at burning speeds lower then what they are certified for...   |
