| Personal Opinions: |

My personal opinion of this media is not that bad...although it's not that good either... The scores could have been much better
in my opinion, however the discs were all completely readable, and none of them showed any signs of C2 errors. This media type
appears to be fairly consistent in its' quality. When it comes down to it, I'd rather have a CD-R that I *KNOW* I can trust to
burn a certain way, then a CD-R which may burn *REALLY* well, or may burn unreadable.
Technically Speaking: Technically Speaking, I'd say this media is a safe bet. It isn't the highest quality media available, but if it is all you can get, then at least you can rest confidant that it won't fail on you when you need it! The only thing that was a little problematic was when burning the media at 48x, the error rate became a little higher then I think is good. So stick with 40x and below. According to the tests that I performed on this media: The optimal write speed on the Plextor Premium is 8x Speeds to avoid on the Plextor Premium: None (with Power Record On) The optimal write speed on the LiteON 48125W is 40x Speeds to avoid on the LiteON 48125W: 48x and faster The Score: Plextor Premium: In combination with the Plextor Premium drive, I give this media a 7.5/10. The media burned properly, although never attained a GREAT burn quality. I would have awarded an 8/10 if the drive hadn't dropped my faster writing speeds to 20x! LiteON 48125W: In combination with the LiteON 48125W drive, I give this media an 8/10. Although the Plextor Premium scored a little better when the media was burned at 8x, the LiteON showed consistent quality results, and also managed to actually burn the CD-Rs at 40x without slowing down halfway through! |
