| Personal Opinions: |

Well, my opinion is somewhat divided on this media. On one hand, the quality scores were never very good! On the other hand, most of the time it performed
fairly ok. I like the stability of the media, but I don't like the mediocreness of it. I would be a LOT more impressed if it had burned better at 40x and 48x on the
LiteON 48125W though.
Technically Speaking: Technically speaking, this media is not performing up to the standard that was set by its' 32x predecessor! Especially in the area of 40x burning quality! However, it still performed reliably at 24x and below, and that does deserve a little credit I suppose. If you have, or use this media, I would suggest sticking to 24x or at MOST 32x for your burn speeds. According to the tests that I performed on this media: The optimal write speed on the Plextor Premium is 24x Speeds to avoid on the Plextor Premium: None (With PowerRecord On) The optimal write speed on the LiteON 48125W is 8x Speeds to avoid on the LiteON 48125W: 40x and faster The Score: Plextor Premium: In combination with the Plextor Premium drive, I give this media a 8.5/10. This media performed reliably, although it did slow down when burning at 52x. I would not say the media performed *great*, but it did have consistently usable results. LiteON 48125W: In combination with the LiteON 48125W drive, I give this media a 7/10. I was not overly impressed with this media's performance on the LiteON 48125W. I felt it left a lot to be desired, even for Prodisc media! However, it's not a complete waste since it can burn ok at 24x and lower. |
