Personal Opinions:
I was very impressed by this media! It scored very well in all the tests that I performed on it even at speeds of 48x! Though I do find it interesting that the older Maxell branded 40x Ritek CD-Rs had better test results then this newer 48x Ritek Media. I should stress though, that even though the 40x Ritek media was a little better, this media is still VERY good. I would recommend this media for any kind of use. It has a very low amounts of C1 errors reported by my tests, and I would expect these discs to have a very long lifespan. Also, I would recommend these discs for people with all types of CD Burners, as they perform well at all speeds from 4x to 48x, and I suspect the same would be true of speeds higher then 48x.

On a slightly more technical note, I find it strange that these discs performed slightly better at higher speeds, then they did at 4x or 8x. The difference is fairly small, but it *IS* noticable. Perhaps newer discs are being conditioned for use at more common speeds, such as 24x and higher? however, this is only a personal theory.
The Score:
In conclusion, I believe that these CD-Rs are a fine representation of what should be a common thing where quality is concerned! Therfore, I give these CD-Rs a score of 9.5/10. I hope Ritek continues to provide us with good quality media, and I hope other manufacturers pay attention to Ritek's success, and start producing higher quality CD-Rs! Not to say that all other manufacurers are bad, because there are many that are very good.
Sincerely,
The Digital Dolphin
