Personal Opinions:
My personal opinion of these CD-Rs is good. I am pleased with their performance, and I strongly suspect that if I were to use these CDs for my important data, it would remain secure for quite sometime. I do not know however how these CD-Rs would compare to the average good quality CD-R with regards to lifespan though. My only real complain with these CD-Rs is that they are too easy to get fingerprints on! These guys absorb skin oil like no other CD-R I've dealt with, and this could lead to data corruption from felt markers or adhesive labels. However, since neither felt markers or adhesive labels are recommended for use on CD-Rs that you want to live a particularly long time, this may not really be a problem. Besides you can always handle them with latex gloves and mark the plastic center hub right?
Technically Speaking:
Technically speaking these CD-Rs performed well, but not great. The average errors reported by K-Probe could have been a little lower, but were still in the remarkably good category. That being said, I remark that they are good ;)
The Score:
I give these CD-Rs a 9.5/10. I would have given them a perfect score if the average error rate was reported as being a little bit lower then it was. All and all, I still recommend these CD-Rs for data backup.
Sincerely,
The Digital Dolphin
