CD #1 Burned @12x (Certified Speed):
Tested @40x
Tested @40x

IF you are wondering why there is a picture saying that "there is no test available for this speed" under the Plextor Premium category, it is because the Plextor Premium does not have the option to burn a CD-R at 12x, so I can't do a test on it. The LiteON 48125W however, is completely capable of burning a CD-R at 12x, and you can see the results of such a burn above. The test speed that I used was 40x, the same as the "high speed" tests on previous reviews. I have decided to remove the low speed testing from display since usually the high speed tests are more pertinent information, and having both tests for every burned disc just took up WAY too much space! As you can see, the LiteON 48125W did a fairly good job of burning these Mitsui CD-Rs at 12x, although the score could have been a little better, it is still a good quality burn!

CD #2 Burned @16x (Overclock Speed):
Tested @40x
Tested @40x

As you can see, despite these discs being pushed above their certified speed rating (overclocked), the Plextor Premium is boasting a C1 error rate average of just under 2.5 errors per sector! Unfortunately, the LiteON 48125W is not having such an easy time burning these discs anymore... showing an average C1 error rate of almost 25 errors per sector!

CD #3 Burned @8x (Underclock Speed):
Tested @40x
Tested @40x

Here we see something a little bit different from what I would have expected: The Plextor Premium appears to be having more trouble burning this media at 8x then it did at 16x! even though this media is only certified for speeds of 1x-12x. The LiteON 48125W on the other hand begins to truly excel at this speed! While both CD-Rs burned at 8x will work perfectly fine for any application, there is no question that the disc burned on the LiteON drive is superior in quality to that of the disc burned on the Plextor Premium drive in this case.

CD #4 Burned @4x (Underclock Speed):
Tested @40x
Tested @40x

As we continue the underclocking to the lowest speed possible on both the LiteON 48125W and the Plextor Premium, we find that both drives are now performing relatively close to each other, and both providing very good quality burns. The LiteON drive however, still manages to produce a slightly higher quality burn.
