99min Overburning Guide

  1. Load up Nero Burning Rom version 5.5 or later
  2. If the new compilation window does NOT pop up, select "new" from the "file" menu
  3. Select compilation type [CD-ROM(ISO), Audio, (S)VCD, etc...]
  4. Select "No Multisession"
  5. Click "new" on the top right hand corner of the window



  1. Select "preferences" under the "file" menu



  1. Click on the tab labeled "Expert Features"
  2. Select "Enable Overburn 'disc-at-once'"
  3. Set the "Maximum CD Length" to 99min 59sec and 74frm
  4. Click the "OK" button



  1. Now select "Write CD" from the "file" menu



  1. Double check that the "No Multisession" button is still selected
  2. Select the tab marked "Burn"



  1. Make sure the "write" button is selected
  2. For "Write Method" select either Disc-at-Once, or Disc-at-Once/96
  3. Choose a writing speed between 12x and 24x for optimum quality results
  4. Click the button marked "Write"



  1. Don't Panic, It is normal for 90min and 99min CD-Rs to not be recognized properly
  2. Take a deep breath
  3. Click on the "Write Overburn CD" button
  4. Exhale and relax



  1. Close Nero, and enjoy your new CD-R
  2. I recommend running Nero CD Speed (found in the Nero Tool Kit) to make sure your files are secure


*note: some drives are not capable of burning up to 99min onto a CD, if you have any doubts as to whether or not your drive is compatible, feel free to contact me!

**note: This guide assumes you are attempting to burn a certified 99min CD-R. If you are attempting to burn 99min worth of data onto a standard 80min CD-R it will almost certainly fail!
