Personal Opinions:
My personal opinion of these CD-Rs started off very low. I did not like the fact that the CD-Rs were negligently packaged upside down, and then initial tests on this media were outright appalling! However, when I took a look at the results of the tests done on the media burned at 24x and 16x, and I started considering the fact that a 10 pack of this media is selling for $10.30 including the levy and applicable B.C. taxes, I started to soften up on it a bit. Yes, this media has major issues at the higher recording speeds with the LiteON drive, and most likely other drives as well... but recording a disc at 24x doesn't take that long, and it is becoming harder and harder to find media priced affordably in B.C. these days, or even all of Canada! So in the end I have decided to cut this media a little bit of slack.

Technically Speaking:

Technically speaking, this media has speed issues. It claims to be 48x certified, but from my results I find it hard to believe that a majority of CD Writers would be able to burn this media at 48x without having significant data loss. When the speed at which you burn the media is dropped to 24x however, you see some very incredible burn quality scores, which are just as hard to ignore as the horrible scores for 48x burning!

According to the tests that I performed on this media:

The optimal write speed on the Plextor Premium is 24x
Speeds to avoid on the Plextor Premium: None (52x recording untested)

The optimal write speed on the LiteON 48125W is 24x
Speeds to avoid on the LiteON 48125W: 4x-8x, 40x-52x

The Score:

Plextor Premium:

In combination with the Plextor Premium drive, I give this media a 9/10. The overall writing quality of the media was very good, with no reports of C1 averages higher then 2.108. This burner and this media were made for each other

LiteON 48125W:

In combination with the LiteON 48125W drive, I give this media a 6.5/10. The quality of the burns was fairly dependent on the speed you burned the media at. Speeds lower then 12x and faster then 32x would not be recommended. You could probably expect similar results from other standard burners as well.
Sincerely,
The Digital Dolphin
