Personal Opinions:

My opinion of this media type is mixed. Most of the testing turned out fairly good, or at least within reasonable limits, but there were a few occasions (once with each LiteON drive) that this media performed very poorly! Part of me wonders if this may have been from some flaw in the media itself... but despite visual inspection, I couldn't find one. The Plextor Premium as well performed unsatisfactorily on this media, which surprised me quite a bit as well! So I am hesitant to say this media is good, or reliable... even though it performed quite well on my other drives. Technically Speaking: Technically speaking, this media is full of positive potential! Generally it performed well, and left little to be desired... however on a few occasions it had a very disturbing spike of C2 errors, which may or may not have been caused by some unnoticed physical defect on the disc itself. It should also be noted that my Plextor Premium drive did not work well with this media at all... And although there were never any C2 errors reported from the Plextor Premium's burns, they were reliably unsatisfactory in my opinion. According to the tests that I performed on this media: The optimal write speed on the Plextor Premium is 24x? Speeds to avoid on the Plextor Premium: All (not recommended with this drive) The optimal write speed on the LiteON 48125W is 12x Speeds to avoid on the LiteON 48125W: 40x (see above comments) The optimal write speed on the LiteON LDW-411s is 40x Speeds to avoid on the LiteON LDW-411s: 16x (see above comments) The optimal write speed on the LG-8525B is 16x Speeds to avoid on the LG-8525B: None The optimal write speed on the Pioneer DVR-107 is 16x Speeds to avoid on the Pioneer DVR-107: None The Score: Plextor Premium: In combination with the Plextor Premium drive, I give this media a 6.5/10. None of the discs burned performed very well, but on the other hand, none of the scans I did returned any C2 errors either. Not recommended media for this drive. LiteON 48125W: In combination with the LiteON 48125W drive, I give this media a 6/10. This drive did very well on one test, and very poorly on the other. It is difficult to determine whether the fault was a flaw in the media itself, or an incompatibility. Use this media with caution in combination with this drive! LiteON LDW-411s: In combination with the LiteON LDW-411s drive, I give this media a 6/10. Like the LiteON 48125W, this drive did very well on one test, and very poorly on the other. I'm never very keen on situations where media performs sporadically, but my instincts tell me that this media would probably have performed better in the long run if I had tested more pieces. All things considered, please exercise caution when using this media on this drive. LG-8525B: In combination with the LG-8525B drive, I give this media a 8.5/10. The error levels were a little higher then I would give a 9 or a 10 to, but still quite good and reliable. This media is recommended for use in this drive. Pioneer DVR-107: In combination with the Pioneer DVR-107 drive, I give this media a 8.5/10. Like the LG-8525B, the Pioneer DVR-107 performed quite well with this media, although not QUITE good enough to warrant score of 9 or 10. This media is recommended for use in this drive.
