Sadly only 2 drives were able to burn this media at their certified speed of 48x. This is partly because the Plextor Premium completely skips over 48x speed burning, and goes from 40x to 52x. As you can see, the LiteON 48125W has a lot of trouble with this media, and there are even some C2 errors being reported at one point during the test. The LG 8525B drive however, does a much better job of burning the disc, and although the scoring was not what I would call "excellent" it still falls into the "not bad" category, without any doubts! |

As you can see, LiteON has made a lot of improvements in their writing strategies between the LiteON 48125W and the LDW-411s burners. The LDW-411s does a fairly good job of burning this media at 40x, and although (like the LG) it does not get a top quality score, it is still very usable. The Plextor Premium however is another story. It seems to be having a lot of difficulty with this media, and the error rate is much higher then I would like... there are no C2 errors reported though, and that is better then nothing. |
